Four Leaf Clover 22” x 28” Original
Western Red Cedar - 22” x 28” original
I’m a 120-year-old Western Red Cedar from East Sooke region.
My undulating edge is a common characteristic of Western Red Cedars. This waviness is caused by buttress root branches. These roots extend above the ground, providing me support and allowing me to access more nutrients. I have two different branches you can see on my print; one is more developed than the other. Branches form due to a decrease in concentration of a hormone called Auxin. So, at this particular point in my trunk, I had low enough auxin levels to produce two branches!
The black rings represent my winter growth; whereas the white rings represent my summer growth.
Each original comes with a copy of your tree’s story.
All originals are made to order.
